DANIEL IRON is a Producer and President of Foundry Films Inc. He has been a prolific producer of high quality content including television series, movie-of-the-weeks, documentaries, and feature films for twenty years. In 2006, Daniel produced Manufactured Landscapes, the theatrical documentary on acclaimed photographer Edward Burtynsky. Directed by Jennifer Baichwal, Manufactured Landscapes won best Canadian film at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Best Canadian Film & Best Documentary of 2006, as well a Genie for Best Documentary. Daniel produced Sarah Polley’s debut feature Away From Her staring Julie Christie and Olympia Dukakis, which garnered six Gemini awards and two Academy Award Nominations. In 2008, he produced Cairo Time, written and directed by Ruba Nadda and starring Patricia Clarkson and Alexander Siddig, which won Best Canadian Feature Film at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. In 2009, Daniel produced The Bang Bang Club starring Ryan Phillippe, Taylor Kitsch and Malin Akerman, written and directed by Steven Silver, and in 2010 he executive produced TIFF 2011’s Best Canadian First Feature Film Award Winner, Edwin Boyd. Daniel is currently in post-production on Ruba Nadda’s next feature film, a thriller set in Syria entitled Inescapable, which stars Marisa Tomei, Alexander Siddig, and Joshua Jackson, as well as developing numerous other film and television productions.
